WellSpring Weekly
November 09, 2023
Dear Parents,
It’s been so good having our Parent Teacher Conferences today, we’re looking forward to the productive time together tomorrow, too. We appreciate all parents who set aside this time – we believe these are important opportunities to find out how our children are doing in the classroom, where we can work together for our students’ success, and of course time to touch base face-to-face with parents and teachers.
We’re also really looking forward to the Family Fall Festival tomorrow at school, starting at 3:30. We can’t wait to relax and have fun together as a school community. Come expectant to have a good time!
Please read the announcements carefully and be sure to diarize all the important upcoming dates.
A Safe School Environment
This week the Ministry of Education has requested that schools partner closer together with parents to help ensure a safe environment for the children.
The MOE has reminded schools to help foster a positive moral environment valuing national identity. Additionally, schools are to refrain from discussing political events while ensuring classrooms remain free from any political discourse.
We want to promote unity and tolerance regardless of nationality, race, ethnicity, or religion. Furthermore, the MOE encourages the school and parents about topics such as tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and respect for all people whether in person or online.
If you have any concerns with your children, desire for counselling or other support, please reach out to the school as our team is ready to assist.

Urgent Message from the Nurses
We have seen an increasing number of students arriving in the clinic with flu-like symptoms. It starts with stomach pain then progress to nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Fever starts to rise only after the occurrence of headache. If your child has any of these symptoms, they need to stay home until they are recovered. Some students are coming to school with the symptoms while they are still contagious and spreading it to other classmates and staff. Please rest at home until fully recovered.
Co-Curricular Sign Ups
We are very excited for Term 2’s Co-Curricular Activities, made up of Clubs (formerly called ASA) and Athletics. Find the programs or activities that your children would like to join, and sign up using this form. Note that sign-ups are open now and will close on November 17.
Please look on Canvas for more details about our co-curricular activities.
If you have any questions feel free to contact Ms. Rachel (rachel.graeff@tws-rak.org) or Mr. Luke (luke.johnson@tws-rak.org). We are excited to serve and invest into your children’s lives in this way.

This week we are introducing the STEM Excellence Awards, which will be given at the conclusion of the school year. Students that have exhibited a wide range of STEM study over multiple years during their time in grades 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12, and meet certain criteria, will be publicly recognized in an awards assembly in June.
Please follow this link for a more detailed break down of the STEM Excellence Awards criteria.
Curiosity
Curiosity is thinking about a situation, a task, or an idea in a new way.
There’s more to learning than gaining knowledge. To bring transformation from the inside out, we stay true to our values and invite our students, families and community to do the same. This month as we focus on Curiosity:
We will ask questions; seek understanding; think for ourselves.
