Highlights of the Week, October 17

Be smart online 📱🤓💻

Matt Lee, the Chief Information Officer for LifePlus, visited WellSpring and gave presentations to our grade 5, MS and HS students. He spoke into the issues of digital addiction and healthy technology engagement. He then highlighted safety aspects of being online, like how to engage safely, how to be smart with technology, how to harness the strength of technology and use AI to your advantage. We are so grateful for his time here and for engaging on this very relevant topic.

Dissect a squid 🦑

The Marine Science students dissected squids in class, the first mollusk dissection of their course.
They were able to locate and identify different parts of the anatomy, comment on squid adaptations, and make connections between mollusk anatomy and human body systems. They also got to practice performing a dissection properly with respect.
