Highlights of the Week, May 9

Light experiment

Art teacher Ms. Marlies did a light experiment with the grade 1s before the rain came.
She showed how sunlight bends when it passes through a glass prism and crystals, revealing a rainbow. 🌈 Rainbows are made up of 7 colors that are always in the same order. The students have been learning the difference between 'colorful' and rainbow colors.

Eye tests

Thank you to RAK Hospital for visiting WellSpring to conduct their annual eye checkups for all our students. May is the month we focus on eye health - we are grateful to the Eye Care Center for their care for our students' eyes. 🤓😀

Author visit

Secondary students were treated to an interview with our very own teacher, Ms. Bekiwe Hlongwane, author of the book "Giver of Life: The Trilogy". Ms. Bekiwe shared her inspiration for writing her science fiction/fantasy novel, encouraging students to find something they love, develop their craft and to not give up. A highlight was a reading of an excerpt of her riveting book.
