Spring MAP testing, Fine Arts, Re-enrollment and Purpose!
May 15, 2025
Dear Parents,
It’s been a full and exciting week, with MAP testing across most grade levels, engaging field trips to a variety of venues, all underpinned by the vibrant theme of Ocean Week this week. As summer draws near, we continue to monitor the weather and temperatures daily, and we’re grateful for still being able to play outside in the mornings and shaded areas for a limited time. Please make sure your child brings their water bottle to school every day!
Enjoy the week’s highlights in the link at the end of the newsletter.

Spring MAP testing
Students in KG2 to grade 10 are in the process of taking their Spring MAP tests (from Monday 12th to Friday 23rd May). MAP is an international test in 4 subjects (English, Math, Science, and Language Usage) that helps students see how they are growing and learning. Students review their previous MAP scores and reflect on how much they have grown from their previous tests. Teachers use the new MAP data to better plan lessons for students to help them grow even more.
Parents will also be able to view their children’s MAP score reports on PowerSchool once they are released. We encourage you to review these reports to see how your child compares to international benchmarks and to celebrate your student’s growth!

Re-enrollment
Re-enrollment is open for academic year 2025-26. Re-enrolling promptly helps us plan effectively for programs, teachers, and resources for the next academic year. Please follow the steps below in order to complete your enrollment:
Step 1: Re-enroll on PowerSchool
- Login to your PowerSchool
- Click My Family's Details at the top left of the menu bar
- Verify and fill in the necessary details.
- Click save at the bottom right.
Step 2: Payment
- Pay the AED2000 re-enrollment fee per child.
- This payment is fully refundable until July 15th by sending an email to finance before the deadline.
Please note: we have a few grades that are filling up quickly and/or have limited space for next year. The sooner you can complete re-enrollment, the more likely there will be space for you next year.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our finance department regarding payments (finance@tws-rak.org) and IT (it@tws-rak.org) if you have problems with PowerSchool.

Purpose
Each month we focus on one of our 9 Qualities for Life. May is the month of Purpose - seeking the reason why it is made or done.
- We will see ourselves and others as created with value and importance.
- We will use our talents for more than just ourselves.
Our inspiration this month is Hazza Al Mansoori. Hazza is the first astronaut from the UAE. Born in 1983 near Abu Dhabi, he dreamed of space from a young age. Despite the UAE not having a space program then, he pursued aviation and became a top F-16 fighter pilot.
In 2017, Hazza was chosen from over 4,000 applicants for the UAE’s first astronaut program. After intense training, he flew to the International Space Station on September 25, 2019. During his 8-day mission, he conducted 16 experiments and inspired others by sharing his journey in Arabic.
Hazza’s mission wasn’t just personal—it was about inspiring youth in the UAE and the Arab world. Through dedication and purpose, he turned a dream into reality and became a role model for future explorers.
