WellSpring Weekly
October 03, 2024
Dear Parents,
We will have the Executive Leadership Team of LifePlus in and around school next week as they are here in the UAE for a week of meetings. Ms. Rachel Scroggins is part of the team, and she will be hosting a very informative workshop on parenting bilingual children. We hope many of you will be able to attend on Monday morning.
Our first round of MAP testing is mostly over. Well done to all our students – we are excited for the growth recorded in their knowledge in each subject.
Six weeks since the start of school, and we are truly well into the first semester. Please find the highlights of the week at the end of the newsletter.
New MOE sign-in requirement for visitors
The MOE has implemented a new sign-in requirement for all visitors to the school. Parents, please make sure to sign in at the gate using your Emirates ID. We understand this can be inconvenient, but it is in the best interest of the safety of our children.
Parent workshop
Join Ms. Rachel Scroggins on Monday, October 7 for a parent workshop on ‘Supporting your Bilingual Child at Home’. As all children at WellSpring are learning at least two languages, come and learn some practical tips on how to better support your child as they receive this beautiful gift of bilingualism.

How to view grades on Canvas
For parents with Elementary kids, here is a step-by-step guide for viewing your student’s grades on Canvas. Please follow the link: How to View Grades on Canvas
Note from the Counseling team
The counseling team is here to serve you and your child/teen. We want to see your child thrive - not only academically, but emotionally and socially as well. Did you know that social and emotional intelligence not only makes for a happier child but also is good for physical and mental well-being? It also sets up students up for success – in the classroom, outside of school, and later as adults and in the workplace.
We would also like to see you feel supported and equipped in your role as parents. We are available to discuss concerns and challenges, offer you resources, and come alongside you in this tough but rewarding job as a parent. You can also find some helpful info on our Canvas Page (currently for Elementary only).
Here are some extra resources for your benefit: Event Registration. These are online classes FOR FREE led by a well-established, professional therapy practice in the UAE.

Immunity Awareness and Prevention of Cold and Flu
Tips from the Nurse:
• Keep your hands out of your eyes, mouth and nose. Wash your hands often, especially before eating and after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.
• Keep your sneezes and coughs to yourself (use a tissue or your elbow instead of your hand).
• If you experience any flu-like symptoms - runny nose, sneezing, coughing, headache or fever - kindly seek medical attention. If the fever is more than 37.5, stay home and rest.
• Increasing your Vitamin D intake can boost your immune system. Fish, eggs, mushrooms and oatmeal are great sources of Vitamin D.
