Dear Parents,
We’ve come to the end of the first semester! Well done to all our students for a great first half of the year, with excellent opportunities for growth both in academics and character. Especially well done for all the hard work put into this last stretch of assessments, tests and exams. Look out for progress reports next week, more information below.
We’re excited for the EISSA football tournaments next week, with our girls’ and boys’ teams playing against other private schools around the northern emirates.
As we transition into the second half of the year, we have Culture Day coming up soon, our Winter round of MAP testing, and our Admissions season is ramping up.

Report Cards
Well done on completing Semester 1! Semester 1 report cards will be released on PowerSchool on Wednesday, February 5th. They will be available on your child’s PowerSchool page under ‘Student Reports’.
MAP testing
Next week, from February 5th - 18th, students in KG2 to grade 10 will take the Winter MAP Growth assessment. Parents we need your help to make sure students get at least 9-10 hours of sleep each night, eat a nutritious breakfast each morning, and arrive at school on time (by 7:50). These are all extremely important parts of being test ready each day next week.
A reminder that for grades 6-10, MAP test scores will affect their grade (scores don’t affect grades for KG2 to grade 5). More information can be found on Canvas.
Elementary news

Admissions
Admissions season for the 2025-26 academic year is open. However, we want to offer an early opportunity for our current families. If you have other children who will be joining WellSpring in August 2025, we will waive the AED500 registration fee if the application form and complete admission documents are submitted before January 31, 2025 (tomorrow!)
After this, admissions will proceed as usual.
Open Day
We’re hosting an Open Day on Saturday, February 22 from 10 – 2pm. This is a great opportunity for you to let friends and family know to come check out all WellSpring has to offer. There will be guided tours and plenty of opportunities for any questions and help with applying to WellSpring for the next 2025-26 academic year.
Please note this day is for new applicants. Information will go out for re-enrolling your current students.
Culture Day
We are looking forward to Culture Day on February 20. It is a day dedicated to celebrating and learning about the wonderful variety of nations and cultures represented within WellSpring. We would love for our whole school community to be involved. Here are some ways:
- Be planning and preparing for your child to come to school dressed in something that represents their country/ethnicity.
- Be planning to bring food from your country to share.
- Make plans to attend! There will be student performances as well as booths to enjoy.
- Join the WhatsApp Group for your region that was sent on WhatsApp. By joining the group, food and decorations can be coordinated for each region. If you did not receive the links on WhatsApp, please contact the front office.

Stakeholder Survey
Every year we conduct a survey that helps us measure objectives set by the MOE. We do this because we care about what parents believe about the school, and it helps us take action and support continuous school improvement. Please click on the link below. The survey should take about 5-7 minutes, and will be open for 1 more week.
Calendar
In order to plan out the rest of the year well, here are some important dates for your calendar:
- The final day of school will be June 24, with make-up exams from June 25-27.
- And then looking further ahead, the first day of the 2025-26 school year will be Monday, August 25.
Save the dates!
- January 31 – end of Semester 1 (Secondary: there will be no school for middle and high school unless students are writing make-up exams/tests)
- February 3 – Teacher training (no school)
- February 4 – Semester 2 begins
- February 20 – Culture Day
- February 22 – Open Day
