WellSpring Weekly
March 14, 2024
Dear Parents,
With the reduced hours for Ramadan and a pause in all our extra-curricular activities, there is still great learning going on throughout our school as students and teachers continue to grow and reach high expectations.
This month we are celebrating Green Month, and as we spread awareness, students and staff are challenged to make good and sustainable decisions in their daily lives. “Change is important, and it begins with ME!”
Reading Month is also around the corner, let’s all make the effort to read – whether it’s actual books, kindle or online!
Enjoy the week’s highlights using the link at the end of the newsletter.
Discernment
Discernment is thinking carefully and applying truth to our daily decisions.
There’s more to learning than gaining knowledge. To bring transformation from the inside out, we stay true to our values and invite our students, families and community to do the same. This month as we focus on Discernment:
We will ask, "What is the right thing to do?", we will make wise choices, we will not exaggerate the facts, we will tell the truth.
Food allergies
Please read this helpful guide from the Public Health Services Department on how to recognize and deal with food allergies and allergens.
Balancing School and Home Life
Tips from the Nurse:
- Sleep is one of the most important factors that help us to stay healthy. A three year old may need 12 or 13 hours of sleep a night. As children age, their need for sleep decreases. A 13 year old may only need 10 hours of sleep.
- Get your rest, stay healthy and learn well!
- Take a step to screen time balancing.
Reading Month
Reading month will be celebrated from April 15th - May 10th for all EC to Secondary students. We will have some exciting reading activities throughout the four weeks, to be shared at a later date.
To prepare, make sure your child is reading every day at home. We have a wide range of accessible books: library books at school and an online reading platform called myON.
Read, read, read.
Emirates IDs
Please make sure to send your child’s Emirates ID to school to hand to their teacher, or Ms. Samah for Secondary students. These are needed to update our students’ profiles on the MOE system, and will be returned promptly.
