WellSpring Weekly
February 22, 2024
Dear Parents,
Another exciting week at WellSpring! We celebrated People of Determination week this week – thank you for attending the coffee morning where parents spoke about raising kids with specific needs, and joining in the fun at the People of Determination festival yesterday! WellSpring is a place of inclusion where we learn, love and lead together.
There are many more opportunities for parents to be involved in the upcoming weeks: this afternoon we hope to see many Secondary parents at the College Fair. See the details for the Child Safety workshop next week and Culture Day the week after. And tomorrow we will celebrate Haq Al Laila as we get ready for the month of Ramadan.
Enjoy the week's highlights using the link at the end of the newsletter.
Haq Al Laila
The Holy month of Ramadan is approaching, and Emirati families will be celebrating Haq Al Laila (2 weeks before Ramadan). It is a tradition celebrated in the Gulf region. In the UAE, it is widely celebrated in the Northern Emirates, where children wear traditional clothes and carry colorful woven bags, going door-to-door singing to get nuts and sweets.
Our school will celebrate Haq Al Laila this Friday, February 23rd. From 10 - 11:20am, students will go in rounds to celebrate and collect treats. A group of moms has volunteered to do the setup and bring treats for all students. Students may come to school in Emirati dress on the day, otherwise they need to be in uniform.
If you would like to contribute in any way, please contact Um Mouza from grade 4 at 05666919696.
Looking forward to a festive day!

Culture Day
Culture Day, on March 7th, is a day dedicated to celebrating and learning about the wonderful variety of nations and cultures represented within our school. We would love for our whole school community to be involved. Here are some ways:
- Be planning and preparing for your child to come to school dressed in something that represents their country/ethnicity.
- Be planning to bring food from your country to share.
- Make plans to attend! There will be student performances as well as booths to enjoy.
- Join the WhatsApp Group for your region that will be sent on WhatsApp. By joining the group, food and decorations can be coordinated for each region.
Below are the countries represented at our school by region. If you see that your country is not listed, please let us know.
Make plans to attend!
Booths will open at 8:45 AM for Secondary students.
There will be a school-wide parade of flag at 9:50 AM followed by EC/Elementary performances (PK-Grade 5). After the EC/Elementary performance, parents are invited to tour the booths with their children.
Secondary Performances (Grade 6-12) will begin at 11:30 AM.
Please note this will be an early dismissal day and students will be dismissed at 12:45 AM.
We look forward to getting to celebrate this day with the families at our school!
Emirates IDs
Please make sure to send your child’s Emirates ID to school to hand to their teacher, or Ms. Samah for Secondary students. These are needed to update our students’ profiles on the MOE system, and will be returned promptly.
