WellSpring Weekly

Although this week is a shorter one, it’s been characteristically busy. World Mental Health Day was on Tuesday, and we’re encouraged by the different ways and strategies our students and staff use to calm themselves down in stressful situations.

Next week our Basketball boys will be playing matches and all are invited to come and support the WellSpring Wolves!

We hope our families enjoy the four day weekend. Read below for important upcoming events, like the coffee morning and photo days next week, and enjoy the pictures of the week’s highlights.

A reminder that school will be closed on Friday, 13 and Monday, 16 October for our annual Professional Development days. Note that our offices will also be closed on those days and our usual in-person services will not be available.

There’s more to learning than gaining knowledge. To bring transformation from the inside out, we stay true to our values and invite our students, families and community to do the same. This month as we focus on Courage:

Thank you, parents, for encouraging your child to read every night on the myON platform. It is essential to their reading development that they are reading daily in school and outside of school. To help students and parents track their reading progress throughout the week, we’ve decided to update the reading homework requirements. Please read the new requirements here.

On Tuesday, October 17, the Parents Council will host our first Coffee Morning of the year.

Time: 8:30 to 10am.

We are excited to have Grade 9 parent Shaikha Mona Al Qassimi talk to us on “Emirati Culture”.

All are invited!

Next week our Basketball boys will play against RAK American Academy. Come and support our teams in the WellSpring gym after school on Tuesday and Wednesday, details below:

Go WellSpring Wolves!

We will have our annual class photos taken from 18-20 October. Class schedules will be sent out closer to the time. Please make sure that your children are neat and tidy for these days.

A date for your diary: we will be hosting a Book Fair from 23-27 October. There will be available times for parents to also come choose and buy books. Students will visit the Book Fair class by class, and an envelope will be sent home for book purchasing money. More details will be released closer to the time.
