Let's make roller coasters! 🎢
Learning about gravitational potential energy, our grade 8 Science students built roller coasters out of cardboard, tape and marbles.
Roller coasters rely on gravitational potential energy, which they gain when towed up a tall hill at the start. This energy is "stored" due to the coaster's height above the ground. As the coaster descends, the potential energy transforms into kinetic energy—the energy of motion. When it climbs another hill, it slows down as kinetic energy converts back into potential energy. This cycle continues through loops, hills, and turns until the ride reaches the end.
The grade 8's got to showcase their creations at a "festival" where they invited classes from Elementary to come see and test out their designs.
Academic awards 📃
Our middle school and high school students were awarded certificates for their excellent Semester 1 report cards.

Culture Day
We celebrated Culture Day today, one of our favorite events on the calendar! It was a beautiful day with students, teachers, families and communities showcasing their home-countries' dances, clothing, food and traditions, all while celebrating each other. WellSpring is made up of 48 different nationalities, and we are so rich because of this diversity.
