Highlights of the Week, February 29

Happy Haq Al Laila! 🍭🥜🍬
Our students enjoyed celebrating Haq Al Laila last week. With the month of Ramadan approaching, the "Haq Al Laila" celebration is part of an ancient Emirati heritage passed down by generations and celebrated every year. The event, which means 'For this Night', is traditionally celebrated in the middle of Sha'aban, the eighth month of the Islamic calendar. In the UAE, children wear traditional clothes and carry colorful woven bags, going door-to-door singing to get nuts and sweets. Thanks to our Emirati moms who provided the treats for the festive occasion!

College Fair 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓
Our first College and Career Fair was a wonderful opportunity for our high school students. With almost 20 universities plus a few consultancy groups coming on site, our students and parents were able to enquire about course offerings, requirements, and any other questions they had. The fair was for all high schoolers, but specifically for our 11th and 12th grade families who are needing to make important decisions for their students’ next steps.

Space Week

As we celebrate and emphasize Space this week, the Cosmic Dome Planetarium is a great opportunity for our students to experience a planetarium right on campus. Our students are taking turns by class to visit the Cosmic Dome set up in the gym.
