Highlights of the Week, January 25

EC assessment week

It is EC assessment week, and this was a common view outside the Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms this week as teachers assessed each student's grasp of what they were taught this past semester.

January is our month to focus on Service, one of our #9QualitiesForLife.

The middle school Advisory groups, which focus on character education, each picked a Service Project where they could choose how to serve other students or the school.
Some projects were: 📖Reading Buddies, with middle school students reading to KG1; 🗑students picking up trash throughout the school; 🤩and creating fun activity zones where they could playfully interact with younger students.

Gardening

The grade 3's had their outdoor gardening lesson, and planted the first seeds of the season: butternut, coriander and sunflowers. Our outdoor classroom, led by Ms. Emma, is a much loved lesson time where our students learn about sustainable living and get hands on experience with nature.
